Tell Me

Info

Do you remember when you were a child?

What did you want to do? Who did you want to be? Did you want babies? Tell me about how when you were a child you wanted to be famous. You wanted to sing, dance, play football.

Do you remember your teenage years?

How did you feel? What did you want to be then? You know, after you figured out not everyone makes it to the NFL or to the main stage. Tell me about how behind closed doors you still sang, how every night you had dreams of playing along side your idols.

Now, you are an adult. I haven't made it that far so please tell me...

How is your life? Any different than your dreams? You finally have those babies? Are you doing something you love? Are you completely satisfied? If not, lie. Tell me about how you love your office job, tell me somewhere in your early 20's you lose interest for silly things such as day dreaming. Tell me dreams are for the children, that now you're too tired to dream.

But,

If you cant tell me a lie,

Tell me how bad it sucks. Tell me all your regrets. Remind me that things are never perfect. Share the stories of sick relatives and sleepless nights. Don't regard my feelings, just be blunt and tell me things don't work like fairy tales. Tell me about the one who got away, the one who played you and the ones you've played. Remind me to live my life to the fullest extent and keep in mind that you could change your life at anytime.

When I was a kid, I wanted to grow up to become a video game developer. In my teens, I wanted to grow up to become a filmmaker. In my 20s (still working on those) I am where I want to be which is writing and running this platform. I don't regret anything, and never will. Regret is a decision. I believe I'm exactly where I should and need to be. And I don't want to know where I'm going either. Not wanting to know your future can be quite liberating. We must dream big. Because if we dream realistically, it's not a dream :)
