That jerk.
The nerve of his to break up with her with a text. Just a text.
A year of dating and she was only worth a text to him.
In the middle of class, of all times.
Kaye rushed out, holding back her tears as much as she could. Then she ran into the girls’ restroom.
She looked around. Only the cubicle on the far side of the room was occupied.
Kaye locked herself into the first cubicle and cried her heart out.
“Don’t cry,” came a voice.
“Leave me alone,” Kaye sniffled.
“Don’t cry.”
“I said go away.”
“Don’t cry.”
The voice sounded like it was coming from the cubicle next to her. Kaye knelt on the floor to see if someone had occupied the stall next to her. She couldn’t see any feet.
She must have annoyed them. After all, it wasn’t really the place the cry. Slowly, Kaye exited the cubicle. She was surprised to see the fifth cubicle still occupied. She didn’t see any feet, so the girl must be standing on the toilet seat.
“Excuse me?”
The head that she could see did not move.
“Hello? Are you okay?”
Still no one answered. Kaye stepped towards the door and was going to open it. Then she noticed.
It was padlocked from the outside.
Timely for this week. :) My parents are missing, but I'm not bothered. They won't leave me.
