She's a girl who floats.
She prefers the surface where she could breathe
Not too near, not too far to the shore.
She prefers her place, just enough for her to live
And she knows she would never go where it's too deep.
But someone was drowning, he was crying for help
It's a whisper, the faintest whisper she ever heard
Still, a cry for help.
No one seems to hear it as she looked around
No one seems to hear the crying plea of a man.
She decided, she would save him.
But she reminded herself to go slow, to be cautious.
And so she did.
Treaded the water with extreme caution, not to let herself go too deep.
But he's slowly dying, the man needed saving fast.
And so she went, the need to save him much greater from the need to save herself.
She reached him, just minutes from death.
She let him survived, but ended up drowning herself.
