The Light

Every dream I dreamt of, the darkness haunted me but every time when I was about to wake up I saw a bright light far away from me. Curiosity hit me in the face and made me to visit the same dream always, made me desperate, anxious and obsessed. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't get to the light. I felt like a fool chasing after a lost treasure on an island submerged in an ocean. I tried harder and harder, since I got nothing to lose, and finally decided to make sure what the dream is about and why I always revisit it.

In a hope of finding a meaning to my existence I started my travel in the darkness towards the light. The path I took is not so easy to make it to the end, but I am not here to give up easily. The world was not the same as I dreamt, it lacked its elegance, forgot what it is to be generous and became wild. The terrors of the nature, which were once imprisoned by sanity of people, roam freely on the face of the Earth. The world which was once green has lost its taste in colours and became muddy brown, the sky bled from the wounds made by the unknown known humans.

After a while, I reached a human colony and found the reason for the customisation of Earth in this manner, the humans. They took all the green, used up the blue and now all that is left for them is brown mud everywhere. There was nothing left to call it a habitat but still they stay there because they have nowhere else to go.

Death surrounded them in all ways, even from their own kind. They were becoming cannibals to evade hunger death; looting and murdering inorder to survive. Hovering over them was a dark cloud blinding them from light. This was their doing and now they deserve living in this hell, I thought.

I wondered how the place with the light would be, my curiosity didn't let my hope die. The farther I went, the more horrors I saw. The Earth, once we were blessed to have it now became a living hell. A question arised to me, 'why wouldn't everyone go after the light?' The answer came instantly, 'they lost hope'. On the quest of finding light, many of them fell for the trickery of the darkness. But I wasn't going to be fooled.

The light was nowhere to be seen, now that I have reached the edge of the world. I didn't know what to do or how to reach. I closed my eyes and found the answer lying infront of me. I reached the edge of the cliff, spread my arms and leaned forward. I fell and kept on falling, finally reaching my destination. The light was beautiful, I am one of it now, free from the horrors of the world I am happy now. The Light was Heaven.
