The lost reality

Before the world got enmeshed in selfies and faking a smile to look good in the selfies, 

Before photographs became a measure for judging beauty,

 There was a world where photographs were clicked to create memories and not to show off to others and acquire social approval in the form of facebook likes. How many of us click selfies to arrest the moment's authenticity? Instead, we click them to show others how much we (apparently) love our friends, parents,pets and the list goes on.

Before the world got enmeshed and trapped in mobile phone and computer applications,

Before the world got a parallel world called a 'Virtual World', human beings were not mere pawns at the hands of technology. The previous world was closer to the reality than we are now. In this apparently 'connected' world, we are disconnected from our fellow human beings. How many of us come to know about our friend's problems before it's too late? Though we are connected to each other every second, we are aesthetically disconnected.

Before the world got enmeshed in dual realities and illusions, 

Before the world became a haven of lies and deception, there was a world full of love, compassion. There was a world which was ever-ready to help those in need.There was a world which was not confined to ranting on social media sites and doing nothing in reality. There was a world which did not beat up teachers, journalists, dissenters for voicing their opinions.

We have lost touch with the art of living.

We have lost touch with the art of making others happy.

We have lost touch with reality!
