The Moonlight(The Finale Part 2)

Info

Moon have been searching for days but she can't find any sign of Night. It's like the universe is preventing them from meeting each other once more. She felt lost in the blue skies as it extended to the farthest horizons of the earth.

She was losing hope as she sat down to take some rest. She huffed a few heavy breaths thinking where Night could be. She have been searching any signs of his darkness but she can't find a glimpse of it.

Suddenly, Clouds came pass by and she thought maybe they would know where they are. The Clouds are known for traveling long distances, maybe they could've saw them. So she went towards them and asked if they saw her lover.

"We're sorry, Moon. We didn't saw him-,"

"Oh we saw him alright, but he told us not to tell you, Moon. We're sorry." The first Cloud glared at him for telling so. Moon felt a tug inside her chest when she realized that they are indeed hiding. She couldn't believe that Night hated her that much that she wanted to cry.

"Oh, It's okay. Thank you by the way. I'll just find him myself." Moon went passed through them as she tried to hide the tears tempting to be released. When the Clouds are out of sight, she broke down on her knees and wept soundly for her Night.

All the regret and grief inside her chest was poured out to the earths. She kept on saying the words, "I'm sorry," to the empty spaces of the sky. She's sorry for throwing him away. She's sorry for wasting all the love that the Night had gave her.

"I'm so sorry. Please forgive me, Night. I'm so sorry." That was all she could ever say. She will never find him, but all she wanted was to get him back and return the love she never gave back. She wept all what she wanted to say until a soft breeze hit her nape.

Then she shivered at the coldness of it until, "Why are you crying?" a whisper had disturbed her thoughts. She was about to ask who it was but it seemed it read her mind. "I am the Wind, Moon. I travel faster than those Clouds. I cannot be seen but I can only be heard and felt."

Moon wiped the tears off her face as she straightened her gaze and tried searching where the voice is, but it's futile. She is indeed invisible. "I know where the Night is Moon. Do you want to see him?"

Her heart leaped out. "Yes! Please, Wind take me to him. I need him. He is my breath, Wind. Please, I will die without him, Wind. I beg of you. Take me to him." The Moon begged on her knees as she wept continuously.

The Wind saw her desperation and saw the misery she hid behind her eyes. She felt the pain Moon had been feeling. So she decided to help her, "I will take you to him, Moon. Follow what I will say."

The Wind whispered all the directions to Night.  She felt so happy and nervous at the same time. "I know you told me to let you go, Night. But I finally want to have you. I will set things right for us, Night. I'm sorry. I won't give you up now. I finally found the true meaning of love and I won't lose it right now. I love you, Night. That is the ultimate truth."

As she traveled miles by miles and she saw the black sky. Her hope ignited once more and she ran towards the growing darkness. This time, she would keep all the promises she broke. She will make him stay by her side.

As she went closer, alas! She saw him carrying all the Stars in his arms. She smiled with tears flowing on her face. She felt happiness as she cried. She was about to step closer until a woman in different colors stepped towards him.

She froze and felt so defeated when the woman hugged him from behind. He smiled at that gesture and there she realized the most painful fact of all. He moved on and found happiness with his new wife.

Then they saw her and she was shocked. Then, the woman decided to come to her while Night was left behind with an unreadable face. As she came closer, she smiled sincerely at Moon and  asked, "I'm Aurora. Do you need help?" she asked with a very soft voice.

Moon cleared her throat to prevent it from breaking. She closed her eyes for a minute to hide the tears she will give away. "I need to talk to Night."

Aurora chuckled at her. "Why? You already pushed him didn't you? You should let him go now, dear. He won't come back to you anymore."

"I am his wife. I have every right to talk to him."

"You were his wife. I'm his wife now after you threw him away like trash. Can't you see that he's already happy in my arms?" Aurora asked  sweetly but it laced with mockery. Moon felt defeated at those words.

She was right but Moon decided to push further. "I love him, Aurora. Please let me talk to him. I beg of you. I will die without him."

"Don't you have the Sun to keep company? I thought you admired him for the pleasure he gave you. Why don't you give it to him now? Are you tired because he's no longer good for you?"

"No! I let him go because I love Night. Please, give him back. I love him too much. I would do anything just to have him back to my arms. Please, I need him." Moon fell on her knees as she tugged at Aurora's dress. She felt alone and all the grief she's feeling is eating her slowly.

"It's too late for that, Moon. You already lost him. He won't return to you. Why don't you ask him. I'll call him for you." She left Moon behind to call Night. Even though without calling Night, she knew it would be futile.

But she wasn't ready to give up yet. Not now that she loved him so much. She waited for him as he came closer. The Stars are in Aurora's embrace.

"What is it, Moon?" He asked as he gazed at her. She stood up and looked at him in the eyes. He changed so much on the inside, but how come he was still that Night who she had met whenever she sees him and his darkness.

"Night, please come back to me." She uttered with difficulty. Night never gave way to any emotions and instead he replied, "Why would you want me back? You made me leave, Moon."

"Night, I'm sorry. I'm too foolish to see your worth. I'm sorry for being so cruel to you. I regretted everything Night. I'm so sorry. I know I have no right to come to your doorstep, forgive me. I love-,"

"Never say words that you can't mean, Moon. If you really love me, why would you push me away?" She heard his voice broke as tears started to flow on his face. "I'm exhausted of loving you, Moon. I'm tired of hugging you. Especially, when you made me leave by your side when all I wanted to do was to stay."

He cried before her and she felt ashamed of herself. What had she done? She broke him big time, and there's no way that she could erase all those bitter moments in his mind. He was devastated beyond repair.

"I once thought, that it will be you who would fix me in my darkness. It will be you who will give light to my lonely existence. But you destroyed me with your light. You made me believe that I could be fixed even though in reality I can't be!" He screamed as the both wept soundly as Aurora looked the both of them with sympathy.

"Your beauty made me dream that I would be happy. Thanks to you, you made me realize that even the light will never choose to redeem my hope. Because all the light does is to push the darkness away." He turned his back on her but she swiftly caught his hand.

She couldn't speak up because she realized how cruel she is to him. She want him to stay, but this time he really wants to let go. "Moon, let go of me. Please." She kept on crying and weeping all her grief. There is no hope, she will lose him. After all, it is their destiny to lose each other.

She is the light and he is the dark. They will only destroy each other. Their tale was just like Aurora and Sun. They will never be together. "You told me that you're suffocated from my arms right? I guess, I have to tell this to you too." He turned to her once more and he uttered the words that shattered the Moon's heart to billions of pieces.

"I'm sick of you, Moon. Let me go. I can no longer give the love I once had offered. You made it rotten so bad. I hate you." Moon finally released her grip from his hand. She stayed still on her knees as Aurora and Night went away.

Finally, she accepted defeat. She lost in the battle of love. She felt distressed and drained. All her light was already gone, and now all her hope is gone. There is nothing left in her, but the hollow space inside her heart. That hollow space had tugged the most painful part of her heart.

And she wept harder. This agony is the greatest among all. She will forever yearn the love she once had. She took a glimpse of them, even though it was painful enough for her to witness Aurora's embrace. Suddenly, Aurora turned to the Moon followed by some Stars.

And when her final tear had dropped, the Stars smiled at her happily and Aurora gave her the most uplifting smile of all. It does not behold grudge nor mockery, it held sincerity, hope, and assurance. Then, they continued to pace away into the empty space.

"She obliterated you completely, didn't she?" Aurora asked Night. He turned to her for a few minutes and he turned his back a little to check something. To check if she would still be there. "But your heart still belongs to her no matter what she did, am I not right?" Night froze and they stopped walking. Moon is nowhere to be seen and it was only the both of them together with Stars.

"What are you saying, Aurora?" Night chuckled but Aurora felt the nervosity that lingered through his laugh. "It was you who I love now, Aurora. Together with the Stars." He smiled as he showed the Stars in his embrace. Aurora smiled triumphantly when she saw hoe fake his smile is.

Aurora looked at him with a strange grin making Night lose the smile on his face. They had a stare down but Aurora knew better as Night heaved a deep sigh. "But no matter what I do, Aurora, she would still linger in my heart." Then Night dropped and sat down as Aurora looked at him with a smile.

"Of course she would. She is after all your first love." Aurora told him. Night felt guilty for letting her know. He knew that Aurora is madly in love with him.

"I'm sorry, Aurora. But don't worry, someday I will learn to love you. I know I could. I could-," But he was cut by Aurora's finger. She smiled at him strangely and there she told him, "I moved on a long time ago, Night. Long before I saw you in your exhaustion. I love the Sun, Night. And I would chase him if I had any chance."

Night's jaw dropped. "W-what? But why would you offer me to come with you? You told me about letting go. What was that all about?" She smiled at the Night's innocence. This is one of the reasons why she fell for him once. He is an angel in disguise.

"I did all of that to make her see you. If I wouldn't meddle with this problem of yours, you're still crying your heart out to the air. Wind told me everything, even your pain. If I didn't do this then the Sun won't stop plotting his revenge on you. Did you know that it was him who forced Moon to find you?"

Night was speechless. He couldn't speak anything about her incredible wit. "I know every secret that went around Night. You even told the Clouds not to tell her where to find you, but good thing the Wind is loyal to me. I ordered her to make sure that Moon would come to us."

She held Night's hands and she looked him in the eyes. "And I know, you still yearned for her love, Night. I heard you crying for her name as you slept. When she told you that she loves you too, your heart leaped happily."

Night smiled as tears started to happily flow. "I felt it, Night. We've been best friends for years. You're holding back because of me. Well, don't get too conceited, Night. I moved on! Chase her, Night. Choose not to hurt her any longer." She encouraged him.

"What if she will destroy me once more?"

"Then get broken. Night, Love's brother is Pain together with Bliss. You have to get hurt to know what is the difference between being happy and being destroyed. When you get hurt, she will get hurt to. And once she chose to be happy, you too will be happy."

She released her hands from his. "Love is all about your other pair, not yourself, Night. It would always be that way. It is the reason why you and Moon fit for the perfect pair. You fixed her at the same time as she fixed you. You gave meaning to the light in the darkness, and she gave beauty to the darkness inside you. Together, you are perfect."

"Choose to be happy, Night. Don't be as foolish as the the Sun and I, Find her now Night. The Wind will guide you." Then Night kissed her on her forehead and gratefully whispered, "Thank you," and he took off as the Wind whispered the way.

Meanwhile, Moon wandered into the emptiness as she reminisced everything before the Sun came. They were indeed happy back then. She had nothing to do about it but to wish all those happiness back. She wept and wept as she thought of every 'what if's' she could think of.

Her voice is broken and so as her hollow heart. She looked around and wished to die. She wandered into the lonely depths of the sky and finally decided to live the rest of her life crying everything to the space and time itself.

She wept everything for hours, until she felt familiar arms snaked from her back. She stiffened as she gazed at those arms in the full shade of midnight blue and black. Her heart skipped a beat as she felt him smelled the scent of her neck. She couldn't breathe, not because of the tightness but because of the comfort and shock she had felt.

"Will you let me stay now, for real?" She cried at the voice. She knew it was him and she gripped tightly into his arms. She wanted this not to end, so she held onto the arms like her life depended on it, she turned t her side and saw the Night's angelic face with his eyes closed.

"Please, Night. Don't ever let go. Hold on to me, I beg of you." Moon felt so blissful as she cried. Night kissed her head from the side as he tightened his embrace around her. "I'm so sorry for everything, Night. I'm so sorry."

The Night hushed her as he snuggled his head on her neck. "I'm sorry too, Moon. I'm so sorry. I will never get tired of you. I never hated you. You are my only dream come true, and I would die just to be with you forever, Moon. I'm so sorry." She turned to him and faced his body as she cupped his face and kissed his lips.

Night held her so tight. This was their first kiss. Night had never been so happy before. Moon felt like she was hovering above heaven. They kissed as if forever won't exist. Then they released from the kiss but not from the hug.

They looked at each other's dreamy eyes, as both of them are lost in their daze. They were hypnotized from each other's love. Suddenly, a bright light disturbed the darkness and here came the Sun with tears in his eyes.

"At last, Moon. I can finally rest. Thank you for everything, Moon. And I was wrong, you are the most beautiful woman I've ever seen." Night smiled at him. He no longer feared the Sun. Because now he knew where Moon's heart has gone. Then Sun left with a smile on his face and they were alone.

"Moon," Night called and Moon turned to him. "Can you please tell me what I mean to you?" Moon smiled at him and she cupped his face once more as he tightened his arms around her waist.

"I love you, Night. No one will ever replace your space inside my heart." Then their lips met once more. The Stars giggled at this and the Clouds came to fetch the Stars for them to have time alone. The Night and Moon made love for the first time in their life. It was beautiful, it was magical, and there are no words that could describe how they loved each other at that time. And finally, her light came back, and she glimmered brighter than ever.

Then came their first children but unlike the Stars, they love to travel in fast speeds. They were the Meteors, who were once rocks but would ignite when they move a lot. A lot of people would wish when the pass by, and it was a wonder if the meteors would grant those wishes.

But one thing is never a mystery. It was that the Night will never let the Moon go. The crickets would murmur to each other at how beautiful the sky is with the darkness. The wolves would praise the grace they beheld on to each other. There they realized, that they made each other wonderful.

Night gave purpose to the moonlight and Moon showed how beautiful the Night could be. The darkest sky is more beautiful than the brightest day. For it was the time that all types of light such as the Stars and the Meteors had the chance to shine their bright. When all you could see in the day, is the Sun and it's only light.

Together, they showed hope. He was serenity and she was the beauty. Together they are indeed a perfect pair. Finally, they had proven that their love is everlasting. The Night had finally found the true meaning of love, and he will never let her go, because she is the meaning of his true love.

Here their story shall come to an end, as all scars have started to mend. The Night had Moon's love to defend, and from there on he knew the love will never descend.
