The Prince and his Knight Bodyguard (Short Story)

    In the middle of a forest.There is a town and in the middle of the town, is a Kingdom. The Kingdom of Targon.In the Kingdom lives the King and Queen with their only son, Prince Mark.

   Meet Mark, he is 16 years old, a smart boy and a boy who loves to stroll and full of curiosity. He is handsome, with a beautiful shining smile, pairing with his smiling sharp eyes.

   His parents are always out of town with the purpose to keep and help their kingdom, but they have assigned atleast one knight to guide and protect and guard their son in case if something bad happen.

They want him to be safe and be protected because he is the heir of the throne of the kingdom.

   All is perfect for Mark, except of that bodyguard. It always limit his actions and always follow him wherever he goes.He feels uncomfortable and out of his freedom.

One time, as he strolls, and the body guards is there again by his side, Mark ask him,

“Why did you always limit me and to the things that I wanna do?”

“ I want to do that I want to do these but you don’t let me.” Mark said

“I’m just following orders from the king and I’m just protecting you” The knight replied

 Mark grouch quietly and cross his arms while walking around with his guard still following him.

  While walking, he see the entrance to the forest.The forest is prohibited to go, because it is dangerous to go there. But because of curiosity, he wanted to go and enter it.He knows that his bodyguard won’t let him to go, but because he is a clever one, he had an idea.

“I’m hungry. Bring me some bread from that bakery” Mark said and pointing to the bakery near the cavern

“Ok, just for me here to come back” the Bodyguard replied

  By the time his guard entered the bakery, he rushed silently to the entrance of the forest.He run as fast as he can until he feels that his guard won’t see him anymore.

  He started to wander inside the forest.He see many trees and fruits and beautiful flowers.He continues to walk around until he sees a lake.

  He took off his clothes and goes for a swim and enjoy the fresh water of the lake until he gets tired.He then goes for a rest and sleep under an apple tree.He woke up and he was hungry.He took an apple fruit to the apple tree he slept before.He didn’t notice the time.

  The sun is ready for sunset so he decided to took on his clothes and go back home.

He walks around but he forgot the way home.He still continue to walk and the sun is out and only the moonlight to light his path.

   While he walks, he hears a rustling sound on the bushes nearby. He stand still , get ready if something bad happen and watch his sorroundings for danger.

  He suddenly hear a loud howl and he it makes him scared. There is no one to help him. He is panicking and worried.

 Suddenly something came out from the darkness.

 A wolf that is hungry and angry.He does not know what to do because he have nothing to defend himself.He is unarmed and no weapon to use.

He and the wolf stared at each other watching each others action.

Few seconds passed and the is ready to jump , bite and pound him.

  He had nothing to do and instead close his eyes and wait for the wolfs attack.But many seconds have past, he doesn’t felt any pain.

  He open his eyes and see a man standing in front of him holding a sword with blood.It’s his bodyguard that saved him from the wolf.The wolf is now lifeless.

  Mark now feels safe and felt tranquility. Thanks to his bodyguard. He gives gratitude to his bodyguard.

  The bodyguard leads the way back to the castle and finally, they have reach the kingdom peacefully.

  On that day, he didn’t go on that forest again and now mark and his bodyguard is now friends and the guard continue to guard and protect the Prince if ever bad happens.
