"My Dearest, for you, the Stars I will get,
Just give me your hand,and you wouldn't regret!,
Eh,why the stars,the moon itself,
I'll fly to the sky and show you I'm best!"
The boaster didn't know ,
That the beautiful maiden he saw,
was not just so easy to claim,
The moon and the stars,
were never too far,
She thought she would start a new game!
"There's a jungle in the east,
Where dwells a furious beast,
Shining there lies one precious thing,
It's a crimson red stone,with a setting of bone,
Bring that ,and my hand may you win!"
Don't think my dear friend!
That the lady is gourmand,
For riches and bounty and gems!
She just wished to see , who that worthy would be,
Who had brain,who had brawn,
Out of all one black swan!!
The brave heart came next,
Wearing a sword and a crest,
"I got a bullet for the beast,
None so fearless as me to say the least,
Get ready with your bridesmaid,
A gown of fur for you I'll get", he said..
The 'too bright' scholar made the next entry,
With a duffle and a pen,a man of landed gentry,
Said, "Knowledge is all I can share dear maiden,
Children I want from you,my legacy to be laden,
Love doesn't matter to me , neither do ruby and gold,
Anyway why to try in futile when for this I'm too old!?"
The lady, by now , regretted starting the game,
Word had spread quickly , such was her fame,
So many cuckoos had come,her search was forgone,
But still no sign of her 'One' black swan..
Suitors returned empty handed from the east,
Rumours were rife that so mighty was the beast,
They trembled,they feared, some even disappeared!
She thought "It's enough!, there is no one coming,
I'll get my own Ruby, for myself I'll win!,
On horseback she rode, armoured with a sword..
Eastward she went, and camped through the night,
Howling of the beast sent a chill down her spine,
At last she entered the cave where they resided,
The beast and the Ruby, and all that the tales recited,
Careful and slow, with a warrior's grace she followed,
The flickering light to lead her to the precious red glow,
Little did she know that just behind her breathed,
The legendary beast with claws still sheathed..
Closer and closer she was getting to the ruby,
But the beast lay hidden, waiting for what was meant to be,
'Ah, there you are! My precious!' she found it at last,
She touched it with her sword, but 'Oh no, Alas!'
It started from her right arm and then continued down her torso,
What was happening to her! 'Oh dear Lord, Oh no no!!'
Bit by bit her skin covered in fur,
She screamed in agony as her bones grew bigger..
The mighty beast watched this and finally heaved a sigh,
Now his search for a partner ended with a nigh,
Thinking ,'She may have been greedy in her human form,
Or it might have been pride to lead her down this dark dorm,
Now that she's an animal , she might as well may,
Have the purest of hearts that humans can't have any day..'
