The Traveler

Every once in a while,
Take a break from the grind,
Travel to places far n wide,
With a camera by your side,
Capture with it all the sights,
The world is filled with delights.

Once I went to a land of hills,
The winding paths were full of thrills.
The tops were all covered in snow,
To beat the chill we had hot cacao.
The valley below was such a view,
I'm sure if you go you'd love it too.

Next destination was along the shores,
Racing on the beach were labradors.
The cool breeze made my hat fly away,
Racing behind it was my fiance.
Little girls on the side were playing hopscotch,
The waves and tides were a pleasure to watch.

Away from the humdrum city life,
I went on a Safari to see the wildlife.
There I saw the lions roar,
And the majestic eagle soar.
Elephants, wolves, hawks and wildcats,
All in their natural habitat.

Then I wanted to see some culture,
Heritage sites couldn't be any richer.
Architectural influences filled me with fascination,
Even in diversity there was collaboration.
Met the people and tasted their food,
Each experience filled me with gratitude.

I can't wait to go again,
Capture stories with my pen.
Sharing my experiences with the world,
Watching the sights before me unfurled.
Travelling gives pleasure to my soul,
Worth more than finding a diamond in the coal.
