The witnesses on the road

 ___________________🌳______________________

Hand in hand we once walked on this road side,

Vowed not to leave each other when on any stranger tide,

You had thought we were alone,

But strangely now that you are gone,

The witnesses still stand,

As it's their home, it's their land,

While they themselves are the homes ,

Of the little birds and the pomes,

They watch me while I walk,

How I wish that they could talk,

The ant hills are still there ,

Near the cherry tree that was our lair,

But that tree is now wilted,

Just like I find myself jilted,

I sit here sometimes,

Feeling a bittersweet sublime,

In my newfound solitude I revel,

Slowly I was able to unveil,

That I don't need you at all,

I won't fall into any other pitfall,

I thank you, for making me stronger than I was,

Your absence was all that was needed for this cause,

If someday ,sometime in your life you ever feel like looking back for me,

You will find that I am no longer there and neither is the cherry tree..
