Thoughts of an athiest

I am an atheist partly because I was raised unreligeously by my parents,but also out of respect for the Universe.

Allow me to explain.

Saying that a or several gods created the the world and that there are divine places other than the present Universe seems disrespectful to me because it implies that the Universe isn't "devine"already.

Man created religion as a response to a fear of ignorance about the mysteries of the world,as is plainly shown with ancient rituals focused around fertility,weather,death,and other (at the time) completely uncontrollable and unexplainable things.Religion,and religious stories particularly,aim to explain th the mechanics of the world and quell this fear of the unknown.

To try to ecapsulate the mysteries of the world into a neat ,tidy book,with essential questions with elaborate theories is to denegrate the Universe's awe-ispiring complexity.

To declare the natural forces and processes of the Universe unable to produce the breathtaking variety of life that we see today,crediting it instead to mysterious divine entities is underestimating the Universe, being blind to its true magnificence.

That is why I am an atheist.
