To The One Who Locked Me Up

I was free.

As free as the bird who flew from tree to tree or the fish who swam from one to the other sea.

Then you came into the scene.

Oh, you made me feel like I had even more freedom – that I could do anything I wanted and go wherever I pleased.

Little did I know that I was slowly being dragged into prison.

I was imprisoned in this imaginary world you showed me.

A world full of love, joy, commitment ...

Others would probably wonder what's wrong with that kind of world.

The problem was ..

it wasn't just love, joy, and commitment.

There was jealousy, impatience, distrust ...

I wanted to go out.

I wanted to set myself free - free from these knots you managed to tie while keeping me busy gazing at the stars, thinking about forever with you.

You got me locked up in this misery.

You got me locked up and I'm still trying to figure out how to undo these knots and unlock this cage you managed to put me into while keeping me busy thinking I was free.
