TSA Plate

In the present study, we investigated the properties of TSA Plates. These plates have been shown to exhibit high levels of microbial growth and contain carboxylate-modified FluoSphere beads. To investigate the effects of these beads, we inoculated a 25 ml TSA platewith S. aureus strains at various growth stages. Each time point was observed under an upright microscope stage. We observed the bacterial growth by acquiring top-view images of the colonies.

The culture media were enriched with 10 mg/ml chloramphenicol for overnight cultivation. The TSA plates were then supplemented with PSMa3, a chemically synthesized product in Taiwan. The TSA-0.4 plates were then incubated at 37 deg C for 24 h. After that, the mutant strains required PSMa3 to spread. The stains of the selective media must match the results of the TSA plate.

Agar (TSA) is a rich media containing a variety of nutrients that microorganisms require to grow. The TSA is generally composed of salt, meat stock, and yeast extracts. Although it does not support fastidious bacteria, it is still ideal for establishing a culture of bacteria. It is also a non-selective medium. This makes it easier to handle. Further, it is easier to leave the solid plate in a compounding hood.

Agar(TSA Plate) can be prepared in two ways: molten agar or TSA broth powder. In a two-liter flask, agar can be dissolved with distilled water. Once the media is fully dissolved, autoclave it and cool it to 60degC. If desired, you can add 5% sterile sheep blood. Human blood should not be used as a basal medium. This medium can be used in a variety of experiments.
