Waiting is for Fools

Waiting is for Fools.

He’s waiting for someone. Would you consider him a fool too?

People will never learn why some prefer to wait if they haven’t experienced what it’s like to wait. There’s this tiny glimpse of hope glinting before your very eyes even if your own heart whispers thoughts of giving up and your own scarred hands want to let go. Because you believe in something. You do believe in this unfathomable feeling that soothes the numbness that you felt. There’s this warm aura seeping through your veins, igniting in your very skin. There’s hope growing inside yourself, hope that reassuringly makes you hold on to something you care for, something you love. Even sometimes, these are just mere fantasies of our desperate minds, nothing can stop a heart from believing in something that makes it more humane and rational. And you know deep down, that it is what you desire too.

Some say, you risk everything when you wait and believe me, that’s true. Yes, we risk everything and it’s worth the gamble. We risk everything beyond what our mind can scarcely imagine. We choose to wait because it is our happiness, it is something our hearts ache for. It is something that can’t be seen through by our own naked eyes nor can be held aloft by our bare hands. It isn’t visible yet fulfilling; it fixes the delusional brokenness we mourned when they snatched away the fragments of ourselves that we willingly gave. It is the remedy to the countless deafening thoughts delving inside our ever restless minds. The medication to the questions that were left unanswered which would gradually consume our sanity. Perhaps, waiting is our way of looking at the brighter side of life even if we knew ours is already dim.

Would you consider me a fool if I still wait for nothing?

You are not a fool for making someone the ending of your story. They are meant to be just gleaming chapters in your own distinct novel. There’s this one who would continue the melancholic writings you carved in every blank pages and would polish love in the book of fairytales you’ve been dying to hear again.

You are not a fool for giving someone your world. Halfway across their journey, they will eventually get lost in faraway places for they have searched something so unrefined in exchange for something that truly matters. You made them the pivot point of your universe and it’s their loss if they are to be just one of the strange unnerving black holes floating helplessly in the vacuum.

You are not a fool for giving too much. If they had taken away all that was left to you, start again. Even the empty and broken ones can still be beautiful. This time, I hope you realize that caring too much does no good. People will play with your feelings, they will take you for granted. But don’t act like a cold-hearted soul. Time will spit out a tiny sparkle of flame that will burn your insides and make you remember love and hundred important things once more. The things you have forgotten when you offered everything, little do you know, yourself also craves self-love too.

The ones who wait are no fool. Even though they knew the painful truth that awaits in the end, they are unafraid of what to come for they choose to love the things that made them happy instead of giving up and living for the things that kill them emotionally.

So tell me, are the ones who wait, fools?

There’s no one to blame here.

Waiting is not a mistake nor an option. It is both a sacrifice and a choice.

“Sometimes, love is the poison we intentionally consume.”

P.S: I hope you'll read this, you perfect and beautiful soul and sorry for the errors ( I am not that good in English)
