We were one now :)

Info

I silently waited for the rain to stop. My IPod had stopped playing its music by now, but I didn’t care. I felt I was happy just watching the little droplets of water hit the grass in my garden. Lost in my world somewhere I still heard her spooky laughter. Her horrifying laughter. I couldn’t get over it.

Today was a fortnight again. Since the past 2 years every fortnight I used to see her on my terrace. She said she was a ghost and she would kill me soon. I never believed her in fact I fell in love with her. Today once again I was too see her. I had resolved to tell her my feelings today. Gaping at the rain, I closed my eyes and memorized her voice and ‘horrifying’ laughter.

‘Don’t come near me, dear.’ She said, I remember. ‘I’ll kill you.’ She threatened.

I don’t know what had got into me, a coward guy like me, moved ahead and spoke, ‘You’re beautiful.’

Well, my thoughts broke off, I couldn’t neglect the high speedy winds and thunderstorm.

I waited. I waited, eagerly and of course impatiently. The clock was to strike 12:00, her time of arrival, I didn’t want to be late. The rain had fortunately stopped. I still for precaution put on my rain coat and walked up to the terrace.

There she was perfectly on time. In the same white frock she stood again. Her back was towards me. I smiled. Maybe she had used her super natural powers to read my intentions, and she was shy. I went close to her, inches apart, I set my hair and tapped her back.

She looked back, not completely turning but just bringing a side of her face. Her eyes had tears. How ofte do you find a ghost crying?

I turned her around and hugged her. Her face buried in my chest. She was crying badly. I hushed her down. And asked her in the most sober voice I could, ‘Are you fine, love?’

She looked up. ‘I was sent here to kill you.’ She spoke further, still choking, ‘I love you. I know you too. But I’m not a human being. I’m dead. But I knew you when I was alive.’ She took me to the corner of the terrace. Her hand was warm yet it froze my body. ‘You see that house.’ She pointed across the roads. ‘I used to stay there. I used to study in your college. I used to love you then. I never could possibly tell you but yes I always did.’ She said with teary eyes. ‘I thought I’ll never get you.’ ‘I died last year in an accident. I wanted to kill you too. That’s why I came here, but now I realize I can’t.’ she couldn’t speak, or maybe I didn’t let her. I buried her face in my chest and hugged her tight. ‘I love you, my princess.’ She looked up. ‘I came here today to make you mine forever, but instead you made me mine.’ ‘Kill me.’

She couldn’t respond. He jumped from the terrace. Leaving behind everything and much more than anything his life for her, cause he knew they had a better life in some other world, far away.
