Steps to install the Linux Avast Agent
Before starting the Avast installation; you need to download the Avast Linux package. Here are the steps to load the EPO GUI on the Linux server:
Avast Agent Installation
C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Avast \ ePolicy
Orchestrator \ DB \ Software \ Current \ EPOAGENT3700LYNX \ Install09
Avast Agent deployment
You will need this operating system to install the Avast EPO agent
Ubuntu Linux 8.04 (or newer)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 (or newer)
Go to menu | Systems | System tree
Click on the group in which you want to deploy your agent
Touch Actions | Agent | Deploy agents
Now you have to click on the agent version from the drop-down list.
Choose a suitable agent version from your list. Make sure you are installing a version of the signal agent on your operating system. In case you want them for multiple operating systems, you must install the agents one by one on each operating system.
Click Install systems that do not have an agent managed by this ePO server.
Now you have to enter your credentials
Enter your username
Enter your password
Retype your password to confirm it
Click the button remember my credentials for the future
In case you don’t want to get the default value, enter the number of attempts, retry the interval and cancel after the options on the screen.
Steps to get VirusScan for Linux
Go to the System Tree button and click on the group where you installed your Linux system
Press the Assigned Client Task button
Go to Actions
Tap the New Customer Task Assignment button
Choose Avast Agent on the Product tab
Choose Product Deployment for Task Type
Click the POC-Deploy VirusScan for Linux button on the task name
Press the Next button
Now from the Programming page;
Toggle the schedule status to Enable
Toggle the schedule type to Run Immediately
Press the Next button
A summary page will appear on the screen; press the Save button. Now your Avast has been installed on your Linux device.
Steps to uninstall Avast VirusScan and the EPO agent from your Linux device
Installing Avast VirusScan is a bit difficult, but you can uninstall Avast VirusScan easily. Uninstall Avast VirusScan and then you can uninstall the EPO agent. Go to the package directories and then remove the avast annoying pop-ups.
