What I found from my recent trek..

Info

I had heard it being said, “The way you live your days is the way you live your life”. And I started having an even firm belief on it after my recent trek to Chanderkhani pass,Himalayas which turned out to be my intense introspection period.

We all shape our life in it’s very beginning so that later on we can relax once it acquires a proper form. Similar was the trek, every day was like a new life, new beginning and new quest. My group started at 5 in the morning(which has always been my dream timing to wake up). We got warm water and tea before 6, Breakfast before 7 and then packed lunch. We used to trek and travel for the next camp till 2 in the noon, which sometimes extended to 3 but not more. The rest of the evening was a beautiful and peaceful time, where we were all allowed to explore the nature.

Initial half was always difficult, waking up even though you might not have had a proper sleep at night. Missing tea, because maybe you woke up too late or you have still not acclimatized to the current timings of having motions. Whatever it was, we still traveled. First day was the hardest, then by the grace of God, there were no rains so the rest became easier and easier. Before sleeping we discussed stories, laughed and had fun. We slept with the animals, as per the nature commanded us.

In the mid of my trek, I developed tonsils, fever and loose motions but since I felt I had no option to quit, I didn’t. And with the support of my companions, it became even easier. Sitting in the quit and writing my poems, or looking into myself, I got a greater glimpse of life from that distance.

So, I have decided to have a life, every single day where I wake up at 5, plan my quest and be prepared for it by 7:30. Then would work till 3 p.m. Then I will relax and would look upon the work I did that day. I will write and do introspecting and then before sleeping, will spend time with the ones I love and cherish.

This trek added another feather to my hat(And in literal sense!). I found a vulture’s feather which I loved and was my companion throughout. I believe that despite being an easier trek, it taught me so much. It gave me a glimpse of the world inside. My own reaction to loneliness and the absence of comforts, my own vices and expectations. How much have I grown in these 10 days is still unbelievable for me. Now I know a man’s purpose for going so far away. It is to look at the world from a distance, where all worries start to look so small and some time away to look inside.. where there is just another ignored world. :)
