What's Behind Those Smiles

Info

Blue sky,
Pretty smile,
Soulful eyes,
Lovely stares,
Melodic laughs:
A happy afternoon.

Night sky,
Forced smile,
Sad eyes,
Lonely stares,
Dramatic sobs:
A gloomy evening.

In this universe, there is a girl...
A girl being loud in the day to silence the voice inside her head.
A girl smiling and laughing all the time to escape from the uninvited loneliness.

No, she's actually quiet and reserved.

But she has to do this in order for her to run away from the darkness.

She might look happy when you see her... but can't you feel?

She's being desperate to overcome her misery.

Those smiles? You can't easily tell that those are forced.

Those laughs? Oh, you can't even notice that she is trying hard.

Those eyes and stares, they're deceptive and illusive.

She's a great pretender, the greatest pretender I've ever known.

She looks like she's having fun at day;

Enjoying things and making happy moments.

But have you seen the "she" when the day is giving way to the night--

Her vulnerable side, fragile and crybaby personality?

She would sit in the corner suddenly feeling sad and alone.

She would question her existence and worth--

Asking if when will she be truly happy, when will she feel worthy;

And when will she... escape from this suffocation?

It's dangerous for her to be alone.

When the moon is up and the darkness begins to envelop her world,

Her demons start to lurk in the shadows--

Embracing her and convincing her that she's worthless and all.

If you know her, give her a chance.

Don't judge someone without truly knowing them.

Be kind to her, she will surely appreciate that.

And of course, once you became friends... do not break her trust.

loved the story...few suggestions though - maybe you could replace dramatic sobs with silent sobs.? and please don't use the phrase crybaby personality I feel it's not exactly the connotation you were going for - sensitive/ delicate may do I feel. in popular culture crybaby is generally used to describe a person who cries for the silliest of reasons. Just a suggestion - Don't take it too seriously.
