Unscrew the aerator's connector
A clogged aerator may be to blame for the problem. A dirty aerator can collect mineral deposits, which block the water flow. If you're experiencing this problem in the kitchen, it may be the aerator itself. If so, it's time to change it. Simply unscrew the aerator's connector and replace it with the correct one. Check the hoses for any leaks, and replace them if necessary.
In most cases, a faucet's supply hose is on the wrong side of the house. If you only have one handle, the problem is with the supply valve. Generally, the hot water pipe is on the left. When installing a faucet, the installer may not have realized that the supply hose on the left side was actually the hot water hose. To check which hose is supplying hot water, place a finger on the right side of the supply pipe and switch it to the left.
Replace the entire faucet
Another possible cause of warm water coming out of the faucet is poor insulation. Insulation may be blocking heat transfer from the faucet, or the plumbing itself may need to be reworked. If the problem persists for more than a few days, a plumber should be consulted immediately. Otherwise, you may need to replace the entire faucet. This will solve the problem. It will save you the trouble of spending hundreds or thousands of dollars to replace the entire faucet.
If hot and cold water are not coming out of your faucet, check your hot and cold spigots. If you do find hot water, then the water supply system may be the culprit. The pressure regulator may be broken or faulty. A pressure meter can easily be screwed onto the faucet. If the meter isn't reading the correct pressure, then there's a problem with the pressure regulator.
If the problem persists, you should contact your water provider. Often, the main water valve is located in the basement or near the water heater. If you still can't find the valve, check with neighbors or contact your water supplier. In some cases, separate spray nozzle faucets can be the culprit. Running water through the spray valve may fix the problem. If not, contact your water supplier immediately. And if all of the above fails, check the faucets with separate spray nozzles.
Contact a plumber
Another problem that can cause this problem is a clogged faucet. Mineral deposits can form in plumbing fixtures and block water flow. In this case, a clogged faucet can be a result of other plumbing problems. If you can't figure out what's causing this problem, you should contact a plumber to clear it. A clogged farmhouse sink faucet can also be caused by a blockage in the faucet, piping, or water heater.
