Perhaps, life was not always hard

Maybe, we were all just tired

Tired from trying but ended up with, ‘I tried’

Since we are all lonely people with a heavy heart

Perhaps, life was not complicated

It was ourselves feeling haunted

From the misery of living in the land of tainted

As well as, the idea of being left behind and not feeling validated

Perhaps, life was the end of every beginning

It could be just what we all are waiting

A path that will give you everything,

At the end, where you see yourself with nothing

Perhaps, life was how others tell you to be

The expectations and all your ‘wannabe’

The analogy between you and maybe

And how you failed those outlooks of reality

Perhaps, life measures the prosperity and faults

Induces how society classifies those defects and defaults

Creating a barrier where one could not say it’s difficult

Because having flaws and not being smart are insults

Perhaps, life is how people rate you in society

The status quo where everyone was blinded by its cruelty

Where failure makes you in the depth of uncertainties

While people are swallowed by their superiority

But perhaps, it is the people who make life harder

The prejudice and tireless comparison of being an outsider

Those who won’t accept you as long as you’re slower than others

A crime where people are the killers
