Are you looking for credible and trusted daycare in Auckland?
Do you know when to trust a stranger to allow them to take care of your kids?
Daycare or child daycare is taking care of a child in the absence of his parents or other legal guardians. A daycare center is a place, where parents can leave their kids with professionals and they can go one with their work, while the professionals take complete care of their kids until they return.
Tips To Follow
The following are some helpful tips to find a trusted and reliable daycare center:
Do a policy check first
There are a lot of policies that you need to check at the center, such as philosophies on the following:
Sleeping- When are they allowed to sleep? What about fussy babies?
Feeding- What snacks are usually offered? How hygienic is the caregiver? What about kids with food allergies?
sick-child situation- What do you check before accepting a child? What symptoms are a no-go? How lenient are you on this?
Discipline- Do you offer time-outs or do caregivers scold the kids?
Television- How many hours are they allowed to watch television? Is there a restriction or locks on certain channels?
Back-up plans- What is your backup plan is if a kid gets sick or creates a fuss?
Look positive and be observant
Observing how the staff handles the kids is an important indicator of the place. Check if the caregiver is warm and pleasant. What is her reaction to fussy babies or stubborn kids? How clean is the place and how hygienic does the caregiver look? Observing is key to finding a nice place because no daycare center will say that they handle kids carelessly. Also check how many kids per caregiver are there, because it will act as an important indicator of how much attention can the caregiver offer.
Keep talking
This is the problem that every parent faces. Until your kid is old enough to talk, you have relied on the caregiver’s word about your kid’s activities throughout the day. There are a few things that you need to tell the caregiver before leaving your kid with her, like if he is teething or not, what did he eat the night before, what does he like to eat and what is he allergic to, what does he like to do all day and so forth. Check with the caregiver about when can you give her a call to keep a check on your kid. In the end, you need to ask a few questions (in short, what did the kid do all day) and then pick your kid back up from the center.
Trust your gut
It all comes down to your gut. Parents usually sense negative vibes when it comes to their kids. After you enter the center and communicate with the caregiver, your heart would know if the place is good for your kids or not. If you have even the slightest vibe of negativity, think twice before finalizing the center because no work comes above the health and safety of your kids. If you feel a happy, nurturing and positive environment, happily leave your kids there and trust the center for their health & safety.
Be a problem-solver
It is inevitable to feel a little skeptical about every daycare center because when it comes to kids, you must be a little extra worried and a little extra careful about everything. Being careful is good, but being over-protective will not solve your problem. You need to consider other factors carefully and then take a decision, instead of saying no to every available center. If you are skeptical, then ask more, discuss more & observe more and then you might be able to choose the best one from the lot.
Leave Them Happily
You need to leave your kids happy with the caregiver to express confidence in the center and the abilities of the professional. This will also allow your kids to settle down easily with the caregiver and henceforth, build a better relationship between them.
Choose Carefully! Choose Wisely!
If you run a school, then you would definitely want to reduce playground accidents at the end of the
00“Renew, reuse, recycle”. This is a mantra well known in every modern day school.
