A Letter to The Broken Soul

Info

You.
Yes, you.
I know you are the broken one. I can see it through your eyes and your smile, a smile more melancholic than the most heartbreaking cry. I have faced it too, and I can resonate with you.
It hurt so much, almost too much for you to bear.
It ripped your soul and you felt the blood draining out of your body. You couldn't believe it is over.
There was a deep hollow in your heart you tried to continuously fill with something, something that could give you a little soothing, a little. But you could not.
You cried yourself to sleep every night. The kind of cry where you had to grab your pillow, bury your face in and your whole body shook. You didn't dare to cry out, it'd get so loud. You couldn't face your parents.

Most of the nights, insomnia struck you.

You fought so hard yet couldn't manage to gulp down your favourite food, and ran to the basin to vomit.

Yet, you could not let go of the pain. The pain of losing him, all your hopes and dreams, your desire, the things you planned to do with him.

Every single thing reminded you of him. The tracks you used to listen, the places you used to visit, the food you both shared.

Not just that, your beautiful curls that he laid his hands upon, the stretch mark on your growing breast, the scars from your last fight, the blood you shed every month and thought you're suffering this to gift him something beautiful. You will be reminded of him by every bits and piece of your body, mind and soul.

Yet, he is not coming anytime again.

You aren't being able to cope up with the deep ache and it kills you a little each day, slowly poisoning you into the abyss of hopelessness, hollow and deep pit of betrayal.

You'll take time. To recover, to get back to yourself. To not cry every night, get some sleep, to get a better appetite, to pamper yourself, to look at yourself properly in the mirror, touch your hair back without the desire to cut them. You'll take some time to listen to a song and not break down.
But you will.

And when you do, you'll be stronger than ever. But the saddest part is, you aren't going to be the same person again. It will leave a deep scar. But sometimes, the scars are needed.

You'd not trust so easily, you'll be resentful and careful too.

But then again, someone would bring down your guards, break the walls you'll confine yourself in and love you. This time, a little closer to forever.

He had a gentle way. A gentle way of brushing away strands of hair Lying on my forehead.
