A Silent Killer

This is something that can destroy a person.

Something that is like a prison,

It can be extreme or sometimes feeling nothing,

This can end up to something that is truly devastating.

Every day you wear a mask just to hide something

In order for you to look pleasing

But in truth, no one can see your reality,

That slowly destroys your sanity.

There are a lot of things you ask in your head

That confuses you and fills you with dread,

It sometimes leads you to thinking you already want to be dead.

What a cruel thing to think but you still go on ahead.

Dealing with it is not that easy

Others think it’s just sadness or you’re just unhappy.

What they don’t know is how it actually feels

They also think that it’s like a wound that easily heals.

It is something that keeps you awake at night

Something that makes you wants to sleep even with daylight.

Losing energy to the things you love to do,

It even destroys the uniqueness that is given to you.

It can change anyone in an instant,

That even makes them want to be more distant.

It’s really hard to deal with and difficult to express

Since depression is not something that can easily be confessed.
