If you devote early times for simplest things mentioned below you would be saving lot of time at later stage (if they become problem child later). This will also make your family bonding stronger and these activities would be your stress buster too.
Children are parents' treasure and their most precious gift on this earth. They must have seen the world lesser than us but they see it in a different way which we need to appreciate. Listen to them and try giving them as much time as we can. These moments are more precious than anything in this universe.
They are our mirror images and the decision makers of coming society. More well they are groomed more better the system would be in coming times.
Everybody in this world is born his/her own destiny. We are in no way creator of their destiny but we have responsibility of making them the best human beings instead of making them wealthy humans.
Billy Graham Said: 'The greatest legacy one can pass on to one's children and grandchildren is not money or other material things accumulated in one's life, but rather a legacy of character and faith.'
We should give Children the roots of responsibility with the wings of independent thoughts. We Adults are basically outdated children only, so let us make the new product the children the pillars of society.
Some of simplest things which we all can do are:
- Involve them in active conversations.
- Pay attention to what they are saying.
- During conversations , Take only the calls which are very important, avoid maximum calls.
- During your calls for your own gaining time, Don't ever put them habits of TV/Laptop/Mobile Phone
- Listen patiently their opinions, respect the genuine opinions.
- Praise them for good opinions.
- Engage in the conversations of their interest.
- Look at them with respect.
- Share good news with them.
- Avoid sharing bad news with them.
- Speak well of their friends and loved ones to them.
- Keep in remembrance the good things they did.
- If they repeat a story, listen like it's the first time they tell it.
- Don't bring up painful memories from the past in their presence.
- Avoid side conversations in their presence.
- Sit respectfully around them.
- Don't belittle/criticize their opinions and thoughts.
- Avoid cutting them off when they speak.
- Respect their age.
- Analyze & Accept their advice and direction, if found better. Don't feel small, rather be proud if they think better than you. As they are more equipped with latest technology than you.
- Give them the power of leadership when they are present.
- Avoid raising your voice at them. Never yell at them.
- Avoid walking in front or ahead of them.
- Avoid glaring at them.
- Fill them with your appreciation even when they don't think they deserve it.
- Avoid putting your feet up in front of them or sitting with your back to them.
- Don't speak ill of them to the point where others speak ill of them too.
- Keep them in all prayers always.
- Avoid seeming bored or tired of them in their presence.
- Avoid laughing at their faults/mistakes.
- Choose your words carefully when speaking with them.
- Call them by names they like not by your own convenient pet names..
- Make them your priority above anything.
- Discuss with their smallest of smallest issues faced in school and outside like seniors , teachers, bus staff and attendants behavior with them.
- Give daily time to chat and play with them.
- Try to attend all parent teachers meeting and never criticize them in front of teachers.
In the company of child you also become child as it is well said "If you carry your childhood with you, you never become old"
Never miss an opportunity to say your child "I LOVE YOU"
System fails when people with Ability don't wish to Change the System and people with Authority don't have ability to run the System. By criticizing the system won't help but if we nurture well our new generation, the system would change by default by these tiny creatures, who are going to be pillars of society in coming times.
