Prologue

Story of Audit of Lord Hanuman's Travel Air Bill to Fetch Sanjeevni Booti For saving life of Lakshman.

Summary of Hindu Epic Ramayna:

King Dashrath of Ayodhya , was from Dynasty of Raghukul (रघुकुल). He had three wives Kaushlaya, Kaikayi & Sumitra.He was blessed with Four Sons Rama, Bharat, Lakshman & Shatrughan. Rama son of queen Kaushlaya, being the eldest was crowned as the Prince.

Once Queen Kaikayi saved life of King Dashrath, in return King offered her two Promises to Kaikayi to be taken by her any time she wished. Dynasty of Raghukul was famous for keeping its promises against even their lives, if required*.

Against promises Kaikayi wished to have her son Bharat as king of Ayodhya & to send Rama to 14 years in exile to forest. Her wishes were granted by King as he was bound with his promises.

* रघुकुल रीत सदा चली आई।

प्राण जाये पर वचन न जाई।

Out of love & respect wife Seeta & Brother Lakshman joined Rama to Forest for 14 years. After Rama's exile to forest, King Dashrath died & Rama's brother Bharat was appointed as King. But Bharat refused to accept Crown & decided to make Charan Paduka(Slippers) of Rama as the King.

Ravana said to be a great scholar with ten heads, was king of Lanka at that time. He abducted Rama's wife Seeta to take revenge for the insult given to his sister Sharupnakha by Lakshman.

Rama attacked Lanka with the help of Army of Sugriva. Hanumanji was the bravest in that Army & dedicated devotee of Rama.During the war between Rama and Ravana, Inderjit (eldest son of Ravana) sent a powerful weapon towards Lakshmana (younger of Rama). He was badly wounded and fell unconscious. Ayurvedacharyas (Ayurvedic Physicians) found that the wound had done deep enough to kill him.

Hanuman was called to fetch Sanjeevani Booti** from the Mount Sumeru in the Himalayas. Upon reaching the mountain, Hanuman failed to identify the magical herb and carried the entire mountain to the battlefield. Within a few minutes of smelling this life saving medicinal herb , Lakshmana gained consciousness and vigor to fight in the war.

**Sanjeevani Booti is A Herb known as** "One that infuses life"

Ultimately Rama won the war & all came back to Ayodhya.

Story

After the war, Hanumanji submitted his Air Travel Allowance Bill for his official tour for collecting Sanjeevani Booti to Ayodhya administration.

The Auditors in Bill Section raised 3 objections :

Hanumanji did not take prior permission of the appropriate authority , the King of Ayodhya, during the relevant time for his travel
Hanumanji being Grade 1-officer was not entitled to Charter air travel;
Hanumanji was asked to bring Sanjeevani Booti, just a single plant, but he carried a whole mountain (unauthorized excess baggage).

The Auditor returned the bill. King Rama could do nothing except mark it down for re-examination.

A worried Hanumanji approached the Auditor and offered a bribe of 10% of the T.A.Bill amount.

The Auditor now wrote on the Bill :

Re-examined :

Even during the relevant time, Rama was still the king through his Charan Paduka.(Slippers)
Further in an emergency, non-entitled officers can be authorized ex-post facto to fly.
Also excess baggage is justified as bringing a wrong plant would have entailed multiple journeys with extra cost; hence bill may be paid.

Humor:

A woman went to the doctor who told her she only had 6 months to live.

"Oh my God!" said the woman. "What shall I do?"

"Marry an auditor," suggested the doctor.

"Why?" asked the woman. "Will that make me live longer?"

"No," replied the doctor. "But it will SEEM longer.

-----

What do you get if you cross a wild, ferocious, man-eating tiger with an Internal Auditor?

A very dull tiger.
