But you promised!
You made me believe,
That there existed a forever.
You helped me discover me,
You said I could heal.
I placed my trust in you,
You were where my heart was at.
But you promised,
You will hold me until what they call eternity.
I guess we both weren’t on the same page,
Because I am very sure,
I read it twice.
My page defined FRIEND with your exemplar.
You should have read out your definition to me,
I swear I could adapt to whatever these 6 letters meant to you.
I am sorry.
I am not what you assumed me to be,
But I am me - is that not enough?
But you promised,
That I wasn’t unlovable.
You assured me,
Made me realise I could improve me,
Why then, is this improvisation not acceptable to you?
I thought you will be proud of me.
But you promised,
You weren’t like everyone else,
And I believed you.
We should criticize beautiful words that wrap a simple idea but what an irony, we all are poets.
