City life

Info

I mused at the delightful droplets falling on the window while travelling back home from work as I sat near the window seat. The bus was congested as usual and brimming with people. The downpour filled the roads with rivulets and overflowing puddles. Whole world seemed to be mud luscious. The people rushing for shelter and the honking of the vehicles filled the street with swift motions. The people in the bus chattering about the weather, struggling to stand comfortably in the gaggle. The bus driver is one of those unsung heroes. I think we take that group of people for granted because they get us to our destination safely time in and time out. I thought to myself, emphasizing the crowd means de-emphasizing individual humans in the design of society. To live in a city, one must be larger than one's environment and enjoy belonging to the crowd. And this that you call solitude is in fact a big crowd. The crowd appeared to me as so many BROKEN children living in grown bodies mimicking adult lives.
Rain is grace; rain is the sky descending to the earth. The drops of rain make a hole in the stone, not by violence, but by oft falling.
It fell heavily, easily, with no intention but the fulfilment of its own nature, which was to fall and fall. It's a relief to hear the rain. It's the sound of billions of drops, all equal, all equally committed to falling, like a sudden outbreak of democracy.
The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes. We all wonder lots of stuff about real and imaginary people. We all have questions that have plagued us always. Not only can we reach beyond our wildest dreams with wonderings and questions, but we can also dig deeper into the REAL world.
Just remember one thing, "When life gives you a rainy day, play in the puddles."
