Distorted Sacrament (Part 2)

Meltem is sitting beside a pool with a glass full of red wine and is lost in her world thinking about Sarp. She kept on asking questions in her mind and thought -

" Why did you do that to me Sarp?? Why didn't you chose me?? Was I never your priority?? You said to sort things out but that night what you did was that you simply didn't chose me. For you..your night club, your business and protecting Ece was more important. Your wife was of no importance to you.Was it really something more that I asked you for Sarp??? It was just your time, attention and you that I wanted the most at that time but You didn't payed attention to it. You treated me as if I never existed for you.

Yesterday, too you did the same to me.Was it that easy for you to exchange rings with Ece in my presence??? I guess, yes and obviously you earlier had also chosen her over me. May be, my decision to leave  you at that night without letting you know and later sending you a divorce notice was right."

As Meltem was thinking all of this and was sipping her wine, Deniz comes from back and says-

Hey Meltem..I found you.

Meltem : Hi..Deniz..come and sit. Would You like to have red wine?

Deniz: Yeah..sure..I guess, you still remember that I like it.

Meltem : Ofcourse, I do...afterall we know each other from a long time. So, how is your business going?? All well??

Deniz :Yeah, it is on the track.

Meltem :It is good to see you...how you are facing your life.

Deniz : Meltem, If I am not wrong , just before my arrival you were thinking about Sarp, right?

Meltem: You know me so well, I must say.

Deniz :Didn't you miss him in these years?

Meltem : No, I was busy making my career.

Deniz: I can see that, you surely have achieved a lot in your career. Right now, you are one of the owners of this hotel and Sarp merely runs a night club in this hotel under you. Don't you think yesterday was really shocking for Sarp as he got to know one of the new owners of this hotel.

Meltem :As if , he hasn't given me shocks in the past. What if he got one from my end??

Deniz: Meltem, stop behaving as if you don't care anymore. I know, yesterday seeing him with Ece was not easy for you. You know why,because you still feel for him. What did you do in haste?? You simply sent a divorce notice to him and didn't even bothered to talk to him..not even for once. Had you guys conversed before, this seperation would have not happened. I don't know what happened between the two of you in the past, but don't you think this can still be solved. I saw his eyes yesterday and his eyes clearly stated that he still loves you.

Meltem: Stop defending your friend. You know what, we have parted our ways two years back .We are never going to be together. Nothing is left to sort out.  By the way, you too saw Levent yesterday in the party, right?? How did you exactly feel after seeing him?? I too saw his eyes. He simply couldn't take them off you. Didn't you realise that?

Deniz: Don't talk about him. Sarp is different from Levent.

Meltem: Why is he different?? As , Levent has hurt you..similarly, Sarp has hurt me. How are they different?? We know ..we can't forgive them.

Deniz: I understand, I won't tell you now to go and sort things out with Sarp. I leave it to you.

Meltem : Finally, you understood. You what Deniz, we both are somewhat at the same page in our lives. We both don't have the love of our lives with us. Both of them have moved on in their lives with some other  ladies. It seems like we are celebrating our respective failures of our love lives with a glass of red wine.

Deniz : True..I agree. I think, we are at a point in our lives  where we can't undo things even if we want to. Regardless, of not wanting to carry the baggage of our past and our distorted loves lives, we have to carry it till now and You know what, the bitter truth is.." I can't forgive Levent for what he did to me, you can't forgive Sarp for what he did to you and most importantly we can't love again.

Meltem : Yeah. You know what it was really nice talking to you after so long and I want to keep meeting you in future. I guess, you will be leaving Istanbul In few days.

Deniz: You know...I was here for Sarp's engagement.

Meltem : I know...he had to invite you afterall you guys have been friends since childhood.

Deniz: Anyways, tomorrow is a big day for you...isn't it? I heard you are going to hold a board meeting tomorrow regarding Sarp's night club. Good luck to you.

Meltem: Yeah..you are right. Well, Thanks.

Deniz: I think I should leave now..as we both need to rest .

Meltem: Yeah, looking forward to meet you.

Deniz: Same here, Tc.

Deniz bids farewell to Meltem and leaves the poolside. Meltem, also moves towards her room.
