Fire Under The Rain

Info

The first glance caused a spark

The introduction lit up the dark

We were fire that never ran out of fuel

A fire that was put out by something cruel

I always loved each drop of rain

It was my friend who can take away pain

It was the reason why we met

And yet it was the reason for your death

We were fire who didn't die because of water

We were fire who died because of everything that came with it

The night will always be a memory

A memory I never wanted to remember

I heard each drop

I would've loved it

But not anymore

I despised it

Lights were always my sense of hope

When I'm almost overwhelmed by the dark

It made me see everything with its brightness

And it was that night that made me regret ever thinking it was a blessing

The light I saw that night was the brightest yet

And maybe that was the problem

It was too bright that we didn't see anything

It was the brightest light and yet it brought the darkest night

The night landscape of streets and cars

The way the colors pass by my eyes

It provided my peace

But now, it creates instant chaos

Chaos that continuously slams into my mind

Like how that car slammed into your body

Like how it felt when I saw your body fall limply to the floor

Like how it felt that my soul died together with yours

I loved water

I loved lights

I loved the streets and cars

And yet they took the one I loved the most

They took you away from me

One rainy night

Came the bright light

And the fast car

We were laughing

And then it happened

Each smile turned into tears

Each laugh turned into screams

Shouts that I hoped would make you open your eyes

Shouts that I hoped would make you say my name again

Anything to feel your arms around my body

Anything to bring you back to life

But everything was wasted

There was nothing else

Except your lifeless body

And my broken soul

We were both dead

But the difference?

I'm forced to live my life out

I'm forced to pretend I can move on

I had to pretend I could feel something

I had to pretend I was still me

Even though I already lost it

The same night I lost you

The fire that survived the rain

The fire that burned red

Had finally turned into nothing

As you had your last breath
