COVID-19 has us all bound to one place making our normal lifestyle a haphazard, making a new reality of our own made-up routine. This has ended in making us adapt to a new lifestyle at hand. The world has slowed down to a hilt, making everyone function at home. Be it students, workers, or businessman. Being bound to our homes, doing everything from our place, requires a good and strong internet connection. With so many things operating from home, cybercriminals are stepping up their game, making our network security very scarce. We must make sure to keep ourselves safe from them. However, our home internet provides security too.

Cybercriminals are doing a round of work with malware viruses, codes, and computer Trojans. They are disguising as pandemic relieves related groceries supplies and remedies. Especially in these stressful times our home network provides security during this pandemic. Here are some of the security recommendations that would keep everyone safe during this pandemic.

Always be careful and informative whenever you are trying to install any game or software that you do not have any information about first-hand. Cybercriminals are doing everything they can to hack into your system. By tricking users, especially kids that do not know the difference between a malware application and a real one.

• If you are getting bored and need to download a new app to pass your time, always do it from a source you know is official. Many websites have a pseudo application. So, always make sure you read the reviews of the application thoroughly. This way you won’t end up with a virus.

• Even when you are downloading from an official website, there are some chances that you might end up with a virus. This way your data will be exploited and your information will be sent to outer sources. By getting permission that the app doesn’t really need in the first place. For example a screenshot app won’t be asking for your contact history permission. It would just exploit your data.

Protect Your Security & Privacy From Scammers:

Always read the privacy policies from the time you are downloading it. Make sure you are always comfortable with the policies and the personal information they are asking from you. Always make sure that you don’t leave any footprint on the internet that might trace your information.

Never use the same passwords and emails on multiple platforms:

There are many risks when you are operating on the internet. Catfishing is very common these days. Make sure you use many password generators to always choose between different passwords as you work through many websites you use every day and not even in your institutional platform.

VPN is the key to Secure Your Home Network:

A virtual private network is an awesome way of making sure your privacy is not exploited as it gives you easy access to change from a public network to a private network without leaving footprints on the open internet.

Our internet provides security through different internet products. Some of these internet security products such as:

Anti-Virus Software: This software makes sure to protect your device from any sort of attacks such as malware. They detect and make sure they stay away from your devices.

Security Sites: These include firewalls, anti-spyware, antiviruses, and more. The more sure to protect against theft and provide you with safe internet browsing.

Password Managers: These are applications that store and organize one’s passwords. All the passwords stored are encrypted.

Other options include, security tokens, electronic mail security, firewalls, and much more.

As mentioned above, we can get exploited in several way, one must take all the precautions they can. Moreover, without internet security, many businesses out there won’t be able to operate.
