You, alone and lost
Fishing a way out.
I found you,
And found my soul,
Lost in you.
We chattered
We laughed.
I did my best,
To make you forget your past.
I was there for you,
In every way I could,
When you wept,
I sat next,
A shoulder to cry upon.
I looked at you,
And found my soulmate.
I still remember the days,
The lowest point of your life.
You were all alone,
Withering in the harsh rays of life.
I, like a barrier, protected you,
In every way I could.
I slowly built you.
Sacrificed pieces of me,
To make you.
I made you strong.
Strong enough to fight back,
You smiled at me
And thanked.
Thanks for sticking with me.
And you left.
I smiled,
Happy to see my creation,
Finally living the way I taught.
Now, you seldom check upon me.
I am shattered,
Please be with me.
Build me back.
Like I did.
Alas!
I could read your mind,
But you never read mine.
Realisation hit me,
And I wept.
After all this while,
I loved someone
Who could never love me back.
