I embraced your thorns
and accepted the sting
they inflicted on my body,
but you turned cold
when I gave you warmth
with my petals.
I kissed your dark side
and let your demons in,
but you talked down on me
when I showed you mine.
I was on my knees
when arguments started to rise up,
but you turned your back at me when,
for the first time,
I stood up for myself.
I stayed patient and compliant,
I cried in silence just to prove you
I was strong enough to calmly
take your hurricane,
that I forgot to remind myself
that every storm comes to a massive mess right after...
and after you left,
I was completely ruined.
I am ruined.
