I Long For You

You are as compelling as the colors of summer.

You are as irresistible as the call of the ocean.

Seeing you makes my knees buckle, my nerves tingle,

           my muscles tense, and my blood feels like hell fire. 

I am uncontrollably drawn to you - 

     to the unfathomable depth of your eyes,

      to your uncanny smile.

It is fascinating how much you understand me.

You always seem to know me.

You even know very well the profoundness of my sorrows.

You knew even when I don't say a thing, when I keep my mouth shut,

          you knew me all along.

All my demons, the expanse of the darkness that I immersed myself with,

         you knew.

The contradictions of my thoughts, my acts, and the reasons behind my                 actions, you knew.

And yet you still understand me, and you know me very well.

I long for you.

Right now I'm so lost that I cannot find my way back to you.

I don't know myself. 

You were me, and I am you.

But time passed, and I left you. 

I wish I could go back and meet you again, Me-in-the-Past.
