If I could try again

pen or pencil?

one is permanent, the other is not

you think it will be easy

but as soon as you pick it up

at the back of your mind it says

"are you really sure?"

we are constantly living our lives,

being afraid of making a mistake

we are taught that they make us better

but some say otherwise

does it really shape you to be better,

or are we just told this to feel better?

why is it that moments we want permanent becomes temporary,

and moments we want to erase becomes permanent

living life constantly waiting for the ball to drop

for pain to start

for failure to come

hopelessly waiting for the inevitable

If given a chance,

would you change a detail in your life

would you dare press the delete button?

or the reset button?

are you really willing to take risk?

to see how life might have panned out

We callously ignore the fact that every choice we make leads to the life we have now

that a wrong choice could have lead you to not meet a friend,

a lover, or someone dear

the wrong choice could lead you to loose precious memories,

wondrous discoveries

great adventures

We like to wrap our heads to the phrase,

"If I could try again....how will it be different?"

"If I could try again....will it be better?"

can it be better?

Sometimes we need to learn to appreciate the now

because the future cannot be without the choices you make now.
