Please get drunk sometimes,
because when you're drunk,
I'm the one on your line.
Spilling emotions, slurred as it was
but they say "in vino veritas."
Please don't get sober, don't be
because when you are
you won't remember me
We'll see it straight, our flaws
and we'll regret why it was never us.
You're the one who drank,
but I got the hangover.
The ache and the pain,
not in the head but in the chest,
was left in me
when the night was over.
