Why did you come as a work of art
but left a deep cut
and a tear in my heart?

Why did you speak a whimsical melodious note
but deafened me with a monody
in a dreary monotone?

Why did you drop a vial of perfume
to fill my lungs
to seduce or to suffocate?

Why tanged as a saccharine cupcake
Yet trailed my tongue
of a bitter aftertaste?

Why a velvet touch of silk
but you shatter
you tear and split?

Why began like a romantic poetry
if in the end you'd decline an elegy
to a heart you left?
