Installation position and instructions for use of compressed air filters

According to the interface of the compressed air filter can be divided into: threaded connection filter and flange filter, threaded connection filter Rp, NPT using cast aluminium material, flange filter DN using carbon steel material.

　　Installation position of the compressed air filter

　　The compressed air filter and the gas-water separator should be installed in the downstream of the after-cooler or storage tank, in a position where the temperature is as low as possible and as high as possible into the point of use, the debris in the pipeline should be purged before installation, the filter should preferably be installed in the main line and the final point of use, avoiding the use of bypass pipelines as far as possible, the reason being to prevent leakage.

　　Installation and use of compressed air filters

　　1、Select the installation location for the filter and the air-water separator, and make sure to relieve the pressure in the pipeline before installation.

　　2、Install the compressed air filter and air-water separator vertically in the pipeline, confirm the flow direction according to the arrows on the filter, the threaded filter needs to be sealed with raw material tape or sealing material, the maximum working pressure, the maximum working temperature and the filter element have been marked on the outer housing of the filter.

　　3. To make changing the filter element simple, take care to reserve the removal position for the threaded and flanged filters.

　　4. Two and more threaded filters can be connected directly with connectors without the use of live knots and wire pairs.

　　5. Some filters are equipped with an automatic drain with manual function, medical sterilisation, vacuum, dust removal and medical vacuum filters are equipped with a manual drain.

　　6、When initially pressurising the system, slowly open the inlet valve to slow down the air flow until the system pressure stabilises, and ensure that there are no leaks in the filter and air-water separator before use.

　　Maintenance of the compressed air filter

　　Good maintenance and regular checks will ensure correct operation and ensure a long service life. As a reminder, there are no replaceable parts for the air-water separator.

　　Replacement of compressed air filter cartridges

　　Coalescing filter cartridges can be used indefinitely if they filter only liquid oil, but filtering impurities and particles will gradually increase the differential pressure. The life can be monitored with a differential pressure indicator and the cartridge needs to be replaced when the differential pressure exceeds 400 mbar (6 psi) or when the outlet pressure of the filter is not sufficient for use. The cartridge should be replaced at least once every 12 months.

　　AC grade activated carbon filters are used to filter out oil vapour and odours and must be replaced if they are not adequate for the application or must be replaced every six months, the differential pressure will also increase as the dust filter cartridge is continuously filtered.
