What is a precision filter?

A precision filter is a filtration device for solid-liquid (solid-gas) separation and is suitable for the solid-liquid separation of various suspensions.

Why use a precision filter?

Each cubic metre of compressed air contains approximately 140 million particles of dust and contamination of industrial areas is a huge threat to compressed air systems. 80% of this dust is smaller than 2um and has the potential to enter the piping system directly in the compressed air. Condensate, contaminants, rust chips and bacteria in the compressed air mix together to form a harmful and corrosive emulsion that can lead to corrosion of the piping system and cause economic losses to your production.

Classification of precision filters

According to the diameter size can be divided into large filters and small filters, the diameter generally from 300mm to 3000mm, special working conditions can be customized according to demand, generally the diameter of less than 1000mm is called small filters, the diameter of more than 1000mm is called large filters.

1、Shell

The filter shells are made of steel lined with rubber, stainless steel, glass steel and plastic.

2、Filter media

According to the different requirements and the different scope of use, the filter media PP meltblown, line burned, folded, titanium cartridge, activated carbon cartridge, glass fiber cartridge and other tubular cartridges are used as filter elements, etc.

3、Auxiliary system

There are pipeline interfaces, valves, drains, etc.

Notes for installing the filter

1, the working pressure should not exceed the maximum pressure indicated by the filter, and the filter should generally be installed after the after-cooler and the gas storage tank, as close as possible to the point of use and the lowest temperature point;

2, the filter should not be installed after the quick opening valve, and prevent backflow and impact phenomenon, the filter should be installed vertically, and leave enough space below to replace the filter element, the larger filter in the pipeline should be properly supported.
