What is it like to meet a specific person once again? Something like a reset moment after a disaster that did hurt the both of you. Something like walking in to a café or sitting next to each other on a train or looking into each other's eyes for the first time ever again, what would it be like?
It would probably be exciting and scary at the same time, wouldn't it? Thinking how everything will work out if you try to say hi or start a conversation. It would probably make your heart jump as well, thinking that it is not usual for two people to look at each other and have that immediate feeling or "spark" between them.
Then suddenly you'd find yourselves running back to each other again, feeling glad that you did not ignore the spark that brought you together. Almost immediately, you'll wake up happy, almost in tears, thinking about never letting him go and once again meet at the café. Then at night, you'd watch the stars together, thinking what you have always thought- this is a second chance for the both of you to make it all alright.
But you have never been so wrong in your life.
This, after all, wasn't a second chance. Its just a chance for the both of you, not to fix each other, but to fix yourselves alone. It was a chance to see something bigger than the both of you: acceptance. Accepting the fact that love, sometimes, is just not enough; that love, to be pure, must start with oneself. That love could possibly mean destroying what you have together to fix your aching parts alone.
So if I'd be seeing you again for the first time, I'd either close my eyes or run.
