It's Summer Once Again

It was summer when I first saw you. Basking under the warmth of the sun, enjoying the touch of heat as you talk to your friends. Babbling about how you love gifts of summer. Free from school, vacations, days spent with friends and such. And when you laughed, when your nose crinkled as your voice resound, I knew I was doomed.

Your eyes, your smile, your laugh and your everything, maybe I am fated to love all of that even before the birth of our sun.

Because I fell in love with you that day.

It was that same summer when we started talking. I was moved. Never have I thought that the boy from the other side of the street whom I had a crush on would ever talk to me. But you did, saying that you loved the ice creams my mother makes to sell. I was happy, delighted when we became close, so close to share problems with each other, share every thoughts and prayers, share share our hopes and wishes. Our time spent together grew and grew until we're basically inseparable.

It's also summer when you asked me out. Boy was I so eager to agree.

We started dating. Sun kissed photos and warm love. It was all we had. Calming laughter and playful kisses made our days. Our relationship was alive, burning and passionate.

But like summer, it wasn't everlasting, it's not forever. Fall and winter came. The end of everything as coldness of things caught up. You said it's probably only because we're young. The bliss of love we thought we had was actually just curiosity.

We broke up.

You broke me, too. Especially when I found you with another girl one summer day. Smiling as if she is your everything, and maybe she is.

Sadness crept up on me when I saw how much you love her, you never look at me that way. Never.

Maybe fate is still laughing at me.

But I'm smiling,
I'm enjoying life,
I'm laughing,
And once spring pass,

It's summer once again.
