Old habits do are hard to kill. No matter how much you try to change things, one wrong move, and your back at it again.
Studies said that you need at least 21 days to build a new habit. Tried, and yeah, missed a day, and puff! back to the old me. Lazy, sad, boring me.
Laziness is totally has to do with it. Perhaps, contribute a big factor of it. Striving hard and perseverance are the key to kill it.
If you are willing to leave the old, sad, boring life you're in now, then perhaps you need to move. You need to get that bottom of yours up and move your lifeless feet and arms.
Habits can die, hard?, yes! but one thing is for sure, it's all up to you and no one else's.
