Probably, there is this strong possibility
that maybe John Mayer has already told you
that your body is a wonderland
and I think it’s true
I do not contest the idea
because it shows from your head to your toes
But aside from your eyes
that gleam of wonder and elegance
across the Milky Way
every time I look at them,
there is still this mystery
that calls my name
and it sits between your lips
In between your lips lies a space
where a sign that softly reads
“kiss me ‘till the red turns blue” is placed
Curious,
like the first man
who stepped on the moon,
I tried
And so I did what any man would do,
I breathe deeply as if
it was my last gasp of fresh air
I panicked
But it didn’t matter because I took
a big gulp of courage to stand here before you
I took all my fears and
shoved them down the blender,
I drank them like wine
There are no stop signs
made to stop me from doing this,
besides your hand.
Ergo with my finger tips
I traced the soft outline of your face,
the same with how a blind man
would read your fragile smile in braille
Slowly as if the seconds moved by the hour,
I placed my lips onto yours
Carefully as if the moment is made of glass,
we gracefully turned the red in to blue
until all the purple blues bled out
In that time I understood why
moments like this no matter how dark
will always be sweet
sweet as an apple,
Remember my poem about apples?
About how apples and happiness
are the same thing
Just to be clear,
what I meant by apple is you
You’re my apple (even though I call you pumpkin everyday)
I know it doesn’t make sense
but I think that’s the beauty of it
Like those weird Easter Island stone heads
that no one could ever explain how they were made,
the same with us,
we're just here
And so the mystery that lies on your red lips is no more
But every now and then, we seem to forget
So we try our best to re-enact and remember,
to relive those slow seconds,
those fragile moments on
how we turned the red in to blue

No matter how many times this world may fail you, believe that it will someday rise to the occasion.
