Life is so fragile.
It is fleeting.
It is momentary.
Humans always make the mistake of thinking that they have a lot of time on earth, but they are gravely mistaken. They do not know when life would be taken back by the One who also gave it. By the time humans truly realize and understand this, they would most likely be on their deathbeds, reminiscing the old times that they either spent wisely or wasted thoughtlessly.
It is in reflecting upon this sad truth that we should appreciate foresight. If tomorrow therefore would be our final day on earth, what shall we do for the rest of our time? We do not have enough time. Never will time be enough for us to accomplish everything that we wish to do or achieve. Which ones are important though? Which ones will our minds choose to replay in our heads when we know that we're leaving everything behind, taking nothing with us? When we start asking ourselves these questions, we are led to realizing that it is those things that we consider as "small" that matter most. It is those actions that we think we can do anytime, any day, so we set them for another time, that actually bear the most importance. It is simply embracing our loved ones, saying "I love you" and "I miss you", bonding and laughing with our family and friends... those very common and simple actions are what we usually neglect.
In the end, when we approach death, we will never be reminded about our college degrees, or our five-story house, or our luxurious car, or whether we've submitted what we needed to submit at work. Let us not delude ourselves by prioritizing all the wrong things in life. We have to be guided properly by the question "What do we want to remember and what do we want our loved ones to remember us by?"
We have but one life, one chance, to live well. Let us not waste this gift, this borrowed time.
Be free.
Be happy.
Love.
Live!
