every little step toward you

in order to understand

to be noticed

be seen

Color of my hair

Clothes I wear

Books I read

what more can I change

to be acceptable 

Pouring my all

giving everything

changing

trying

just wanted to the one

just wanted to be the best

but

things are bound to fall

bound to break

bound to give

as I stared in the mirror

I was afraid

frightened even

for I no longer recognize

the face looking back

the one who's heart is full yet empty

the one who's smiling but lonely

the one who looks beautiful but felt broken

I pretended to be someone else

that along the way

when I lost you

I lost myself too

I guess 

what I am trying to say is Thank you

Thank you for breaking my heart

for making me realize

that I will never find someone else's heart

when in the first place

I am not sure of mine

Getting lost to you was the best thing 

because with that

I was able to find what I need

a lost treasure
