A Love Story

She sat there gazing at the sun setting at the horizon. Completely lost in her thoughts. Sinking in every bit of the setting sun. Unaware of the world around her. It was today she thought that id departed from him, unable to believe that it has been 2years now! “Don’t ever talk to me again!” his words rang in her head making all her senses go numb as the feeling of immense pain and agony returned to her. She remembered every word said on that night filled with dismay. “Please don’t do this to me...Please don’t go!” she begged him to stay, tears rolling down her cheeks. Pushing her away he left her amidst a beautiful journey he had promised to be her with. Bringing her world down to pieces…!

“Meera…Meera…!” startled by the calling voice she looked around coming back to reality. “Where have you been Meera I was looking for you” said her friend. Blinking away the stream of tears in her eyes she stood up to face her friend. “I was just enjoying the setting sun!” she said fighting back her tears. As the sun set both of them walked back to their house they had rented nearby.

Meera being an architecture student was now in Ahmadabad to do her professional practice for a year’s time span. Having done her graduation from her hometown in pune she was now doing her last year of professional practice in Ahmadabad. Meera was always in a state of confusion whether she should leave home and go. But she had managed to be brave enough to leave her own hometown and come so far to a new city. Completely unknown to the place she was still drifting between her past, present and future.

Meera- A straightforward, brave and intelligent girl who always lived in her world of dreams. Her ideals higher than the skies always made her expect too much from herself and in turn too much from other people. Excessively sensitive at heart she always found it very difficult to cope up with people’s behavior. A go getter attitude would best describe her personality. She had always been a true believer of the Almighty and knew that he is watching over her and that she was never alone. In spite of having a difficult childhood she never let it affect her attitude towards life! Always filled with positivity, she never let her faith die. She lived in her own world of dreams where everything seemed just so right and perfect. She always listened to her heart and followed her dreams! One of her longed dreams was to find true love! She always dreamt of her prince charming and that one fine day she would find him. Though life had always disappointed her with frogs8 who never turned into prince charming! She never lost hope. She had faith that one fine day he would come….

It was in college that Meera and Kapil became great friends. They knew each other better than they knew themselves! Together they used to brighten up everything. They simply complimented each other so well. Until one fine day when Meera fell in love with Kapil and told him that she had fallen for him. Kapil was taken by surprise after listening to this….

Kapil- a very simple, down to earth guy…who had strict rules of his own about life. He totally had a different approach towards love as compared to her, for him it was always the traditional way. They were never really each other’s type.

Very quickly he said “NO…no Meera, I don't have any feelings for you”… Meera was crestfallen she couldn't handle the pain however, she never wanted to lose him as a friend and hence she decided to sacrifice her feelings for him. She never spoke of her feelings for him after that though both of them knew what she felt for him. All his actions showed his love and care for her but he was in no position to understand that the feeling was nothing but love. For a long while he kept considering it as friendship. Days passed and their bond became stronger. Long hours of chatting, the ever growing care and affection, they both became very important for each other. Like every story has a twist… there was a twist in this one too…!

Meera…a girl for whom life was all about taking risks and following her heart had a dark past. She never used to talk about it much since she felt very upset and low when she remembered all of it. She never talked about it to Kapil as well. She thought she would talk to him about it when the right time came, but with time she forgot. And Kapil on the other hand came to know of it from a few friends because of which he was deeply hurt and he decided to end the beautiful bond they shared. He was angry, disappointed and upset because his best friend Meera never shared such an important part of her life with him. Suddenly that day he never replied to any of her messages never answered her calls and finally late night he texted saying he doesn't want to continue. Meera didn't know how to react. She was dumbfounded, unable to take in the shock she simply said okay. The days to follow were full of sorrow and pain for her. She kept convincing him to get back with her but he was quite firm on his decision. He just wasn't willing to listen to anything. She cried and cried more and more each day feeling less and less interested in life. She felt as though the meaning to her life was lost. They almost stopped talking to each other, he began to ignore her and she got used to it. She still hoped for him to come back one day and prayed for him daily. But that never happened.

Five months passed and here she was all alone in a new city all together. Now she had almost left everything behind and had lost hope of him coming back. This is the story of Meera and Kapil…a story which was left incomplete and halfway….:(

But wait….. It’s not over still….

Yes! It’s not over still. Meera made the same mistake as you all made in believing that it is over, because it wasn’t over! The story was yet to begin. And it began when Meera and Kapil had to be in the same group for work. Call it destiny or fate or simply love they had to talk to each other since they had to work together. And then they met almost every day and worked together with all the dedication. The feeling of wanting to be with each other was quite promptly visible in their behavior. The project which they were supposed to complete together as a group came out to be really good and worth appreciating. Once again life had shown them that when together, they tend to set everything right. Soon after that Kapil confessed his feelings for Meera, it was the most emotional moment of their life. She was left speechless; the same guy who made her so unhappy in life was now sharing with her the happiest moment ever experienced in her life!

That’s life folks, what is meant to be yours will be yours; maybe not immediately but definitely. It’s always up to you whether to keep believing in this thing called love or to stay away from it forever and fool yourself and others pretending to be happy. Love will complete you and will make this world a better place to live in. so always live, laugh and love!
