Maybe

Maybe your only fault was not believing me ever,
Maybe you dint believe me because  I never completely let you in; 
maybe I dint completely let you in because deep down I always knew you will be my destruction; 
and one day when you will leave me , I will have to pick up the pieces of my heart and rebuild myself again and the more I let you in, more will be the pieces of my broken heart. 
I always knew you would leave and now that you are gone , I am picking up pieces of my heart and rebuilding myself.
But when you left, you dint take all of me with you. Something inside me is still fighting and it keeps telling me to protect my heart.
So I draw the walls around my heart so high and so strong that noone can knock them down.
Sure I feel lonely sometimes but atleast I won't have to bear the pain of broken heart and broken spirit again.
