The best gets the reward. The worst gets the punishment. And now in this aware world, the worst also gets what they seem to call 'help'.
But what about the mediocre? The unconsoled people who made it through the GD, but screwed up the Personal Interview? Who had written beautiful poems in their diaries but never made to that stage of the poetry slams? Who gave up on engeneering and studied Statistics because the qualifying mark for the entrance in case of General caste students was 81 and they managed to get just 80? Who are great stand up comedians, but only have the confidence to speak up in front of their friends? Who are always called cute by everyone but never taken out for dates?
Who will take care of them when they get bored of their monotonous life while cooking for themselves on a Sunday evening? Who will tell them to start afresh everyday when the world reminds them of their mediocrity?
Who will ask them to hold on and continue when people tell them that their mediocrity is worthless? Will you? You should, you know. Because there are so many people who are unappreciated , whose mediocrity is unappreciated. So many of them. And all of them end up feeling worthless.
But trust me, mediocrity is not worthlessness. It doesn't mean worthlessness. I appreciate everyone who was once hopeful of becoming the best. Who dream of being appreciated. I appreciate mediocrity.
