Mr. Raindrops

I wonder if you have already seen that photo...That photo of us. I mean there is no us but it was a picture of us, two complete strangers. I also wonder if one of your friends already saw it and showed it to you. Were you thrilled or flattered...enchanted perhaps? Did you feel something?

I was sitting near the window inside a van while you were outside standing under the drizzling rain beside your gray car. You were prepping yourself up for your friend's wedding, probably. And I must admit you were one the most dashing gentleman I have ever laid eyes upon. You have that air of confidence but not intimidating. I have just went out of the church because I attended my friend's wedding at the same church where your friend will tie the knot too! I believed if I have just walked a little slower or have stayed for the picture taking a little longer, we would have saw each other eye to eye. Would sparks fly? But then that photo would have never been taken. 

The photo was posted by my friends on Facebook and made public in hopes of it reaching you. And what feelings I felt! Sometimes I feel happy and thought myself in love. But then my rational self tells me that you cannot be in love with someone you completely do not know. A face without a name...A moment that will forever stay in the pictures and will be forgotten. But what is love but an idea? And I love the idea of someday meeting you and knowing who you really are.

Are you someone who reads? Because a man who reads good books is somehow a good man. Are you someone who respects his mother and loves his father? Have you had your heart broken for so many times just like mine? Are you a dark knight who had fought the war on love and lost? 

Do you laugh at your own mistakes and forgives easily? Are you self-assured? Are you someone who's easy with words and with girls? Do you love God? Because you know, anyone believes in God but not everyone loves Him. Are you someone who can fall in love with someone like me?

Wherever you are, I just hope that you are truly happy. That happy that you smile to yourself even for no particular reasons. I hope you are kind. I hope you do not work too much. It will wear you out. I hope you are passionate about something. Oh and I hope you are not egotistic and misogynistic.

But until now, I still wonder what was going on in your mind at those moments. I watched you walk back and forth, to and fro, going here to there back to your car again. Yours was such a sad countenance. Your eyebrows almost crossed. You were the only groom's man late and yet not dressed up upon arriving at the church! Something was bothering you. Why did you look so sad? Was it because the girl you love so much will be married to your friend? Was it because you weren't able to tell the girl you love with all your heart that you love her realizing it was all too late? Was that why you enjoyed the raindrops? I even imagined you looking up and smiling, welcoming the raindrops that were the tears you left unshed.

I's like to ask you if fate will ever lead us to one another again. If ever you see the picture...if ever you read this.
