To The Stranger Who Smiled At Me

Info

Under the intensity of that stare,

And the charm of your smiles,

I felt my soul lay bare,

I started running for miles.

I think I like you but I am scared,

What if I fall and then break?

You asked me about getting married,

How many children do I plan to make?

Or why didn’t I have someone since birth?

You asked me why despite of my beauty,

Will you believe me if I told you I am beautifully cursed?

With expectations, dreams and insecurity?

I could not look you in the eyes lest I’ll be burned,

To the ground where I kept smiling,

Maybe it’s your gaze… or the feelings I cannot return,

Or the glints of passion sparkling,

Maybe because I may seem fragile,

I could be your plaything,

Someone whom you can tell your lie,

And will believe everything.

But what if the person I am running from,

Is the one I have been waiting for all my life?

You were only a stranger, who asked for my name.

And now I think I will never be the same,
