Under the intensity of that stare,
And the charm of your smiles,
I felt my soul lay bare,
I started running for miles.
I think I like you but I am scared,
What if I fall and then break?
You asked me about getting married,
How many children do I plan to make?
Or why didn’t I have someone since birth?
You asked me why despite of my beauty,
Will you believe me if I told you I am beautifully cursed?
With expectations, dreams and insecurity?
I could not look you in the eyes lest I’ll be burned,
To the ground where I kept smiling,
Maybe it’s your gaze… or the feelings I cannot return,
Or the glints of passion sparkling,
Maybe because I may seem fragile,
I could be your plaything,
Someone whom you can tell your lie,
And will believe everything.
But what if the person I am running from,
Is the one I have been waiting for all my life?
You were only a stranger, who asked for my name.
And now I think I will never be the same,
A moment when I felt that I could not take it all and just wanted to feel that there is someone high
