Nights

You can hide all day

Behind the brightness

Entangled in the web of rays

You can push your thoughts

Along the breeze

Wishing it would go away with the flow

coat your fantasies

with colours of different fabrics

But just when you think they’re gone

and you breathe a sigh of relief

You find them waiting for you

In your own den

They all come crawling to greet you

Like a bunch of hungry pets

They sniff you for any hint of fear

And they ask you to feed them

off the monstrosity inside you

They ask you to be possessed by the darkness

So that they can quench their thirst

They make you their property

And devastate you in all possible way

They make sure that you know

This is what they always wanted and

They are now satisfied tenants

And gradually they make you

One of their own

You begin to look forward to coming home

So that you can feed off yourself

you realize that you can appreciate the mirror the entire day

But at night you face the reflection

Of the scars underneath your deceased skin

and you don't even recognize most of them

But when the light begins to fade

They show you how deeply

They are Engraved in you

and once the light is gone

 you see them more clearly

Than your shadow in the broad daylight

You can try to sleep all you want

But they don't ever forget to remind you

That they were drugged against their will
